Honoring Juneteenth

Frank Rimerman is closed from Friday, June 17 through Monday, June 20 in honor of Juneteenth.

Sunday, June 19 is Juneteenth. An Annual American holiday also known as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, and Emancipation Day. In 2021, the Senate unanimously passed a bill making Juneteenth a Federal holiday. In honor of Juneteenth, our offices will be closed on Friday, June 17th and Monday, June 20th.

Juneteenth marks the enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation ending slavery in Texas. President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation as an executive order, formally freeing slaves in the Confederacy on January 1, 1863. But as those areas were not under Union control, it was not until the Union armies arrived in Texas over two years later that it could be enforced.
